About the Opportunity
Star Nursing is seeking an experienced Manager RN Labor & Delivery and Mom/Baby to provide clinical and operational leadership within a perinatal services environment.
This position supports a collaborative clinical setting focused on patient safety staff development and high-quality maternal-child care. The Manager will lead daily operations while working closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient family-centered care delivery.
Position Summary
The Manager RN L&D and Mom/Baby oversees clinical operations and staff performance within perinatal services. This leader maintains strong visibility on the unit supports quality initiatives and ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mentor and support nursing and support staff in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units
- Promote teamwork communication and professional development
- Partner with educators and clinical leaders to support ongoing training and competency development
- Monitor patient outcomes operational metrics and regulatory compliance
- Implement initiatives that enhance patient safety satisfaction and throughput
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support departmental goals and performance improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing required; Masters preferred
- Active California RN license
- NRP certification required
- Minimum two years acute-care nursing experience (perinatal preferred)
- Minimum one year leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong communication coaching and team leadership skills
Preferred Experience
- Leadership experience in a Labor & Delivery setting
- Experience working in unionized or structured workforce environments
- Experience supporting high-volume perinatal programs
- Knowledge of quality improvement and regulatory compliance processes
- Prior bedside experience as a Labor & Delivery RN
