Job Summary

Position Summary
The Shop Service Technician is responsible for inspecting diagnosing repairing and maintaining a wide range of construction equipment in a shop environment. This position requires strong mechanical hydraulic pneumatic and electrical skills to support the repair and service of company and customer-owned machines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with heavy equipment a high level of attention to detail and a strong commitment to customer service and workplace safety. The technician will work closely with service and parts personnel to ensure timely and efficient repairs and maintain equipment performance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect troubleshoot and diagnose construction equipment including Liebherr Roadtec Gomaco Manitowoc and Grove machines.
  • Perform mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic repairs on equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and general machine upkeep.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as laptops gauges and instruments to detect equipment faults.
  • Disassemble and reassemble components to OEM specifications.
  • Operate machines to assess repair needs and evaluate repair effectiveness.
  • Perform basic welding and cutting when necessary.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals schematics and work orders.
  • Accurately complete service reports timecards and checklists.
  • Communicate job status with customers and service office staff.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 3 5 years of heavy equipment repair experience required.
  • Class B CDL or willing to obtain is a PLUS
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex systems.
  • Proficiency in laptop-based diagnostics and Microsoft Office.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics diagrams and service manuals.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic professional demeanor and customer-focused attitude.
  • Basic welding skills and tool usage knowledge.
