As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Gatehouse in New York NY you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter and more. Join Allied Universal at a shelter location as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a welcoming environment for residents staff and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents and assist with access points while providing clear communication and customer service. What Youll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents staff and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures access guidelines and when appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents resident concerns alarms and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter location including common areas entrances exterior grounds and perimeter noting unusual activity and helping to deter policy violations.
• Monitor entry points and interior areas for unauthorized access prohibited items and suspicious behavior completing required identification and/or sign-in processes in accordance with site policy.
• Complete detailed reports and logs of patrol activity incidents maintenance concerns and interactions and communicate relevant updates to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have 1 years of security experience.
• Provide proof of high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
• Be 21 years of age.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
