Our main services are in Wellington Dubbo Western Sydney Penrith Nepean and Blue Mountains and we provide outreach services to other towns and communities through our regional programs.
About The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Policy Officer to support the development coordination and continuous improvement of organisational policies across clinical services aged care community programs and corporate governance.
This role combines policy development with document control consultation compliance support and cultural governance. The successful candidate will help ensure policies are culturally safe current accessible and embedded into everyday organisational practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development review and maintenance of organisational policies and procedures
- Maintain the policy framework including lifecycle management version control and review schedules
- Ensure policies reflect cultural safety principles and community governance requirements
- Research and interpret legislation funding requirements and accreditation standards
- Coordinate internal and community consultation including engagement with Elders and staff
- Maintain policy registers and document control systems (e.g. Logiqc SharePoint)
- Support audits and accreditation processes through documentation and compliance tracking
- Monitor policy currency implementation and compliance risks
- Prepare reports on policy status and improvement activities
- Support embedding policies into practice through training and guidance materials
Selection Criteria:
- Experience in policy administration document control compliance coordination or policy development
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write in plain English
- Experience using digital systems (e.g. document management or compliance systems)
- Understanding of cultural safety and Aboriginal community-controlled contexts
- Experience in Aboriginal health aged care community services or not-for-profit sectors
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma level or above) in Governance Compliance Health Management Community Development or related field
- Current Working With Children Check
- National Police Check
- NSW Drivers Licence
- Current COVID-19 vaccination (minimum two doses)
