Job Summary
The Director is responsible for leading and overseeing strategic operational and financial performance within the Oil & Gas business unit. The role ensures operational excellence regulatory compliance HSE adherence and sustainable growth across upstream midstream or downstream operations. The Director plays a key role in driving corporate objectives optimizing asset performance and supporting executive leadership in achieving long-term business goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement business strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
Identify new business opportunities partnerships and growth initiatives.
Support mergers acquisitions and joint venture negotiations.
Monitor market trends regulatory changes and energy transition developments.
2. Operational Oversight
Oversee day-to-day operations across oil & gas assets (exploration drilling production refining or distribution).
Ensure production targets and operational KPIs are achieved.
Drive cost optimization and operational efficiency programs.
Maintain asset integrity and reliability standards.
3. HSE & Compliance
Champion Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) culture across operations.
Ensure compliance with local and international oil & gas regulations.
Lead risk management and emergency response preparedness.
Monitor and improve safety performance indicators (LTIF TRIR).
4. Financial & Commercial Management
Develop and manage annual budgets and capital expenditure plans.
Ensure financial performance meets revenue and profitability targets.
Evaluate investment proposals and project feasibility.
Oversee contract management and supplier negotiations.
5. Stakeholder & Government Relations
Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities and government bodies.
Represent the company in industry meetings and negotiations.
Manage joint venture and strategic partner relationships.
6. Team Leadership & Development
Lead mentor and develop senior management teams.
Promote a culture of accountability innovation and performance excellence.
Drive succession planning and workforce capability development.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Petroleum Engineering or related field (MBA preferred).
Minimum 12–15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
At least 5–8 years in senior management or leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of upstream midstream or downstream operations.
Proven track record of delivering operational and financial results.
