Job Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for providing strategic financial and operational leadership for the organization within the Oil & Gas sector. The CEO will drive corporate vision ensure sustainable growth maximize shareholder value and maintain compliance with regulatory and industry standards. This role requires extensive experience in upstream midstream or downstream operations and a strong understanding of global energy markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute long-term corporate strategy aligned with market trends and energy transition initiatives.
Identify new business opportunities including exploration production joint ventures and international expansion.
Lead mergers acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
Ensure alignment between corporate objectives and operational execution.
2. Operational Oversight
Oversee upstream midstream and/or downstream operations.
Ensure operational excellence production optimization and cost efficiency.
Drive HSE (Health Safety & Environment) culture across all assets and facilities.
Ensure asset integrity risk mitigation and compliance with industry standards.
3. Financial Management
Lead financial planning budgeting and capital allocation.
Optimize return on investment (ROI) and shareholder value.
Monitor financial performance cash flow and profitability.
Engage with investors financial institutions and stakeholders.
4. Governance & Compliance
Ensure compliance with local and international oil & gas regulations.
Maintain strong corporate governance standards.
Report to the Board of Directors on company performance and risk exposure.
Oversee legal regulatory and contractual matters.
5. Stakeholder & Government Relations
Build strong relationships with government authorities regulators and national oil companies.
Represent the company in industry forums and international conferences.
Manage joint venture and partner relationships.
6. Leadership & Organizational Development
Build and lead a high-performing executive leadership team.
Foster a culture of integrity safety innovation and accountability.
Drive succession planning and talent development initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Petroleum Engineering Business Administration or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
Minimum 15–20 years of progressive experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
At least 10 years in senior executive leadership roles.
Proven experience managing large-scale oil & gas operations.
Strong knowledge of global energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
Demonstrated success in driving growth profitability and operational efficiency.
