Job Summary
POSITION: Teacher Aide QUALIFICATIONS:Experience and/or desire to work with children with special needs and disabilities preferred;Assist in classroom preparations under the guidance of teacher and/or supervisor with daily educational instruction and skills according to individual student needs; including operation of personal assistive devices (iPads communication devices);Physical ability to assist with needs of student such as lifting or carrying in excess of 50 lbs. including wheelchair transfers;Provide close supervision of students while allowing students to seek independence with reasonable precautions to ensure student safety;Candidate should have motivation to work with students who have academic social and behavioral needs; Meet the qualifications as defined in the Ohio Operating Standards for Education of Children with Disabilities and policies of the Local State and Federal government. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining Educational Aide Permit pass criminal background checks and willing to take trainings as required to meet the needs of the students such as First Aid and CPR.
