Job Description
As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Reading PA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hospitals and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a Hospital location you will monitor and patrol assigned areas conduct routine rounds and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service document activity and communicate clearly with site teams and visitors. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities at an industrial location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings production areas parking lots and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards and maintenance concerns.
- Monitor and control access for employees visitors vendors and deliveries by verifying identification issuing credentials as directed and/or screening entry points per site policy.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including supporting medical emergencies workplace disturbances and/or alarm activations and contacting public emergency services when needed.
- Complete detailed shift reports and incident documentation maintain required firearm and equipment readiness checks and communicate updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have 1 years armed security law enforcement and/or military experience.
- Possess an Act 235 Qualification in Pennsylvania only.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A valid firearms permit is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
