Job Description
As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in New York NY you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location you will monitor and patrol assigned areas conduct routine rounds and maintain a highly visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to situations document observations and communicate clearly while delivering customer service with professionalism. This is an armed post requiring an Armed Guard Card or License backed by Allied Universal values of agility reliability innovation teamwork and integrity.

What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees contractors and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures identification checks and other security-related protocols for a government location.
- Carry and maintain assigned duty gear in accordance with licensing requirements and post orders and apply appropriate use-of-force and de-escalation practices as directed.
- Respond to incidents alarms and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner and coordinate with site management and public agency partners as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas including entrances corridors stairwells parking areas and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Complete detailed written reports and activity logs document unusual conditions and/or hazards and assist with emergency response activities as directed by post orders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be a Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
- A Valid Firearms Permit is preferred.
- A State County or City Issued Security License is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
