The Role
The role will be based within our Content Delivery team working closely with the folks responsible for managing content and enabling Editorial workflows for our news music video and lifestyle content created here at the ABC.
- Provide high level technical development skills to the ABC Digital Product team to develop high performance secure and accessible APIs and services in an efficient manner across ABCs platforms.
- As part of a team contribute extensively to the analysis design and development of very complex reusable components and functionality for a broad range of users across various ABC digital properties.
- Maintain a professional and detailed approach to documentation including project documentation for ongoing reference purposes.
- Deliver high quality product development within prescribed timeframes and budget constraints.
- Maintain a high-level awareness of industry best practices and emerging technologies for server side development particularly in areas such as performance and security.
- Improve the quality of output by contributing to the development of best practices and development standards.
Position Description: SOFTWARE
About you
- Substantial experience in Java and Spring Boot with solid experience in server-side development and RESTful API design and development.
- Demonstrated experience developing secure and high-performance backend applications with the ability to write high-quality testable code.
- Good working knowledge of modern frameworks and build tools implementing automated/unit testing and version control practices including branchingmergingand versioning strategies.
- Experience with AWS services ordemonstratedability to learn cloud infrastructure technologies.
- Strong communicationand interpersonal skills with proven ability to share knowledge and collaborate effectively within and across teams.
- Highly advancedorganisationalskills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines coupled with a desire and ability to learnnew technologiesand navigate complex problems.
Additional Skills
- Experience with front-end technologies such as TypeScript React or modern JavaScript frameworks is desirable though not compulsory.
- Knowledge of content management systems is desirable though not compulsory.
