Purpose
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the creation of bold distinctive and culturally attuned ideas that elevate the ABC brand programs and audience impact. You will take insight and transform it into creative campaigns that resonate across TV digital radio social and experiential channels connecting with audiences in a direct memorable and meaningful way.
In this role you will lead campaign concepting narrative design and integrated storytelling ensuring work is innovative audience-focused and strategically aligned. You will champion inclusive collaborative and culturally aware creative practices while mentoring teams fostering experimentation and maintaining craft excellence across all outputs. This is a high-profile role where you can influence the ABCs creative identity and leave a lasting impact on audiences nationwide.
About the Role
Idea Generation and Campaign Concepting
Develop original campaign ideas brand concepts social platform thinking and program promotional ideas aligned to strategic objectives
Lead the origination of campaign platforms big ideas and thematic or narrative territories for high-profile ABC initiatives and programs
Translate briefs strategy and audience insights into compelling creative concepts and executional systems across multiple channels
Produce creative territories hooks headlines scripts content formats and platform-first storytelling ideas
Champion an innovative mindset leveraging emerging formats and technologies to enhance creative quality
Writing and Creative Craft
Write clear and compelling copy for brand integrated film digital radio experiential and social environments
Develop tone of voice messaging frameworks value propositions taglines and narrative structures aligned with ABC Editorial Policies and brand standards
Script radio spots AV assets out-of-home podcasts editorial formats and campaign messaging
Provide strong creative leadership by framing narratives defining messaging architecture and shaping creative principles that guide execution
Refine and polish creative ideas in collaboration with design motion audio and production teams
Collaboration Influence and Stakeholder Engagement
Work holistically with producers strategists designers motion artists audio creatives editors marketers media specialists commissioning teams and other stakeholders
Own the creative rationale presenting work to stakeholders and partners with clarity and conviction
Direct multi-disciplinary teams including writers art directors designers editors and producers to explore prototype and pressure-test creative territories
Translate conceptual direction into tangible executions with design motion and audio partners
Collaborate with editors directors photographers and voice talent where required
Partner to shape campaign and brand strategies and contribute to portfolio planning prioritisation and resourcing
Steward cross-promotional integrations and audience or community engagement initiatives where relevant

Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent skills knowledge and experience.
Outstanding capability in creative concepting narrative design and cross platform campaign development with a reputation for thought leadership and craft excellence.
Extensive experience leading creative development for major complex or high-profile initiatives and brand platforms with demonstrable impact and efficacy.
Highly advanced ability to translate strategic intent and audience insight into creative systems with clear objectives and measurable outcomes.
Advanced understanding of audience research brand strategy measurement frameworks and how these inform idea generation and execution.
Mastery of writing and visual storytelling including experience directing talent voice over sessions graphics and live action production.
Significant capability with editing fundamentals and content optimisation across different platforms formats and audience behaviours.
Skilled at fostering inclusive creative processes that value multiple perspectives and encourage craft curiosity and collaboration.
High level literacy in emerging digital formats social platforms interactive storytelling and community driven creative approaches.
Proven track record of creative experimentation and innovation using new tools and techniques to evolve how ideas are expressed.
