Creating a rare opportunity to join early in the build-out of a new U.S. engineering team and help shape how products are designed and built. The Designer/Drafter will support its Engineering team in the development packaging and integration of industrial power generation systems. This role focuses on producing high-quality 2D and 3D drawings models and documentation to support efficient manufacturing assembly and installation.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with strong drafting skills and experience in industrial or manufacturing environments. This role works closely with Mechanical Electrical and Controls Engineers across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain 2D drawings 3D models and design packages for complex equipment systems
Prepare fabrication assembly and installation drawings for mechanical and electrical subsystems
Convert engineering concepts sketches and specifications into accurate CAD models
Maintain drawing standards revision control and documentation within the PLM system
Collaborate with Mechanical Electrical and Controls Engineers to ensure proper fit form and function
Support packaging design for skids enclosures wiring layouts and integrated equipment
Participate in design reviews build reviews and factory acceptance testing (FAT)
Update drawings based on field feedback engineering changes and continuous improvement initiatives
Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure drawings reflect correct materials and vendor specifications
Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) exploded views and technical documentation
Assist with troubleshooting by reviewing drawings for potential design or assembly issues
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Drafting Design Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
3 years of drafting/design experience in industrial energy or manufacturing environments
Proficiency in AutoCAD SolidWorks or similar CAD software
Strong ability to produce fabrication and assembly drawings
Solid understanding of mechanical and/or electrical drafting principles
Knowledge of dimensioning tolerancing and drawing standards
Strong organizational documentation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with turbine systems rotating equipment or packaged industrial equipment
Familiarity with electrical schematics wiring diagrams or control panel layouts
Experience using PLM/PDM systems and managing revision control
Exposure to NEC UL ISO or similar industry standards
Experience supporting field installations or commissioning activities
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Primarily office-based with routine visits to manufacturing and test areas
May require standing walking and lifting/moving components up to 25 lbs
Close visual focus required for drawings prototypes and safety reviews
Occasional off-hours or weekend work may be required to meet project schedules
