- Prepares and cooks meals for residents and by performing the following duties.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Gathers all food needed for mealtime and reports any shortages to Food Service Director.
- Plates all food items for residents and staff.
- Prepares various foods depending on the menu created by the dieticians for each meal of the day following federal state and local regulations.
- Operates various kitchen equipment in preparation for the meal e.g. mixer meat slicer oven steamer etc.
- Serves meals in a safe manner and follows all requirements.
- Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
- Accurately follows diet cards when serving residents.
- Takes and documents food temperatures.
- Cleans kitchen and all kitchen equipment.
- Assists in putting away of dietary stock and rotation of dietary supplies.
- Keeps all coolers clean and organized including checking expiration dates.
- Follows portion control guidelines.
- *Maintain the confidentiality of all resident staff and organization information.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous cook experience required.
