- Coordinate daily civil and foundation construction activities on site including excavation concrete works formwork and backfilling.
- Ensure construction activities comply with issued-for-construction (IFC) drawings specifications and project procedures.
- Act as the primary interface between civil contractors engineering teams and site management.
- Identify and resolve site-related issues clashes and sequencing challenges.
- Coordinate technical RFI that requires engineer office support to get it resolve.
- Coordinate works around existing structures underground utilities and operating equipment.
- Support utility identification protection and relocation activities.
- Ensure tie-ins and interface points with existing foundations and structures are executed safely and accurately.
- Coordinate with 3rd party quality lab and site surveyor.
Health Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Promote and enforce project HSE requirements and safe work practices.
- Ensure civil works are performed in compliance with site safety rules and permit-to-work systems.
- Participate in toolbox talks job hazard analyses (JHAs) and safety inspections.
- Support incident reporting and corrective action implementation.
- Quality Control
- Verify construction works meet quality requirements including rebar placement concrete pours anchor bolts and foundation tolerances.
- Coordinate inspections and testing (soil compaction concrete testing surveys).
- Ensure proper documentation of inspections non-conformances and corrective actions.
Qualifications :
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Construction Engineering Technology or Construction Management (Equivalent field experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education)
- Minimum 35 years of experience in civil works and foundation construction on active job sites
- Ability to read and interpret drawings specifications schedules and contracts
- Familiarity with safety regulations and ability to enforce them on site
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid Ontario drivers licence and a vehicule
