Position Summary:
We are seeking a heavy civil estimator in the western Pennsylvania region to support our Heavy/Industrial this role you will assist in the development of competitive proposals based on accurate cost estimates including general conditions self-performed work and subcontracted work. The successful candidate will be able to quantify scopes of work assisting in the development of General Conditions and communicate effectively to gain a working understanding of RFPs drawings specifications and RFIs. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering construction management OR technical college degree with combined minimum of five years field and estimating experience
- Comfortable to work in both an office and on-site construction project environment
- Ability to travel and/or temporarily relocate based on project needs
- Proven experience as a Heavy Civil Estimator with a strong focus on earthwork take-offs and self-perform estimating
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans specifications and related documents
- Experience with construction software preferred especially Carlson HCSS and Bluebeam
- Aptitude to work as a team player with strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with project teams subcontractors and vendors
