Job Description
As a Security Officer Mall Center Access Controlin Newport Beach CA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail center where you will monitor and patrol indoor and outdoor areas stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents and assist guests and tenants with directions and concerns. You will document observations support access control and communicate clearly with your team. This is a driving post requiring a valid drivers license under AU Driver Policy Requirements.

What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to tenants guests and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout retail common areas parking structures and/or lots loading zones and perimeter areas; document notable conditions per site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including handling disturbances assisting with lost and found inquiries and coordinating with property management and/or local responders as needed.
- Monitor for suspicious or unusual activity help to deter theft and/or property damage and report hazards or maintenance issues observed during patrols to the appropriate parties.
- Complete detailed shift activity reports incident reports and/or access and key control logs and assist with directing pedestrian and vehicle traffic during peak hours special events and/or deliveries.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid drivers license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Pepper spray certification is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
- Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
