Within this ambitious environment the Deputy Director Development - Foundation Relations leads the design and execution of a high-impact institution-wide strategy for engagement with leading philanthropic foundations driving transformational investment in Monash Universitys research and education priorities. The Deputy Director holds strategic responsibility for securing significant funding from global and domestic philanthropic foundations ensuring Monash is positioned competitively to achieve its fundraising targets and broader institutional impact goals. Pivotal to the success of this role will be increasing philanthropic funding at scale and fostering deep multi-year relationships that support Monashs aspirations as a globally recognised research and education institution of impact.

About You

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Deep expertise and demonstrated success in developing and executing multi-year fundraising strategies within a large and complex organisation with a strong track record of building and managing a strong pipeline of foundation and corporate philanthropic prospects and donors
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence collaborate and communicate effectively to build purposeful professional relationships with high level decision-makers and influencers
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to craft compelling proposals and negotiate impactful mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Superior organisational skills with experience leading multiple high-value projects simultaneously while ensuring exceptional performance accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Broad knowledge of fundraising principles institutional giving and relevant tax and regulatory frameworks impacting charitable giving
  • A highly successful history of leadership and people management fostering collaborative high-performing teams in dynamic and complex environments
  • Experience working within a major foundation university fundraising environment or similar complex organisation with strong working knowledge of both global and local foundation funding landscapes
