The Science Department is a vibrant and ambitious team made up of dedicated teachers and technicians who work collaboratively to deliver exciting practical-based learning experiences. With student uptake in all three sciences increasing the school is now looking for a conscientious and well-organised Science Technician to support day-to-day practical science delivery.
Role Information
The Science Technician will be responsible for preparing materials solutions and equipment for lessons across Biology Chemistry and Physics. Duties also include maintaining laboratory equipment ensuring safe storage and disposal of chemicals updating inventory records supporting practical demonstrations and ensuring full compliance with health and safety guidelines such as CLEAPSS.
The role requires someone detail-oriented safety-conscious and confident working in a fast-paced environment. The technician will work closely with teaching staff to ensure lessons run smoothly and that all practical resources are available clean and well-maintained.
Requirements
Experience working in a laboratory or school science environment
Strong understanding of health and safety protocols
Ability to prepare experiment materials accurately and efficiently
Good organisational and record-keeping skills
Knowledge of CLEAPSS guidance (desirable)
A proactive and supportive attitude toward staff and students
