Position: Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-exempt full-time (40 hours per week).
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Strategic Development
Availability: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a consistent predictable weekly schedule. Occasional flexibility is required a few times per year to support special events which may include evening weekend or holiday hours.
General Position Summary:
Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented communicator who will provide essential support to the organizations marketing communications and fundraising initiatives. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will help implement strategies that increase public awareness community engagement and financial support for Brother Wolfs mission. This role assists with the creation and distribution of digital and print content media outreach efforts social media growth website updates analytics reporting and event logistics. This position plays a key role in maintaining brand consistency supporting storytelling efforts tracking project progress and providing administrative support. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is instrumental in keeping projects organized and moving forward while helping amplify the impact of Brother Wolfs lifesaving work.
Essential Function/Major Responsibilities:
- Assist with data collection reporting and forecasting to support marketing and fundraising initiatives.
- Assist with crafting press releases and oversee their distribution to media outlets to bring awareness to the work of the organization.
- Assist with Instagram Facebook and other social media account management including implementing growth strategies and engaging with supporters.
- Maintain and update Brother Wolfs website content using Wordpress including SEO-driven blog posts and regular website backups.
- Create and edit digital and print content using Canva and/or Adobe Suite.
- Design branded graphic content and build email newsletters using Constant Contact.
- Assist with photography and videography to support storytelling and promotional efforts.
- Track project analytics and provide regular reports to the marketing team.
- Coordinate logistics for fundraising or community engagement events.
- Liaison and communicate with potential business partners and community fundraising initiatives.
- Assist all departments with creation of branded communications and public-facing materials.
- Assist with grant reporting and required marketing deliverables.
- Liaison with third party vendors to manage production and distribution of fundraising and marketing content and branded merchandise.
- Manage communication calendars and implement systems to keep projects on track.
- Prepare board reports to communicate important team information and key updates.
- Provide support phone calls for departments as needed.
- Provide administrative support to all programs and internal teams as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Interest in animal welfare and how communication can be utilized to better animals lives through awareness education and fundraising.
- Understanding of media relations and digital media strategies.
- Understanding of social media behaviors across platforms especially Facebook and Instagram.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Google App Suite Adobe Design Suite and/or Canva and content management systems.
- Some editing skills for images.
- Excellent communication abilities; oral and written.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to project manage several projects at any given time.
- Organizational skills.
- Education in marketing communications or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in marketing communications fundraising or a related field.
- Interest in fundraising-related work.
- Comprehensive reading skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
- Initiative; working with minimal supervision and direction; self motivator.
- Maturity and excellent judgment.
- Comfort and ability to work with animals.
- History with Wordpress is a plus.
- Ability to read write and understand English is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to walk and or stand on your feet throughout a normal workday required.
- Physical ability to engage in repetitive motions of legs arms and hands and to hear and see clearly.
- Ability to handle and spend time around dogs cats and small animals without interference from allergic reactions.
Working conditions:
Conditions may include working alone working inside or outside during varying weather conditions frequent interruptions and some evenings/weekends meetings and classes.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications Public Relations or similar field preferred (or 3 years experience)
