JOB DESCRIPTION CORE Employment Specialist POSITION SUMMARY : Responsible for assessing establishing training and placing participants in the workforce in Cabell Wayne and Lincoln counties in West Virginia. The main office will be located in Charleston West Virginia. The person reports to the Creating Opportunities for Recovery Employment Director. DUTIES / POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES PERFORMANCE COMPETENCIES : Responsible works independently in a safe and appropriate manner. Demonstrates both problem-solving and problem-prevention skills. Sensitive displays sensitivity to the needs of patients and co-workers. Demonstrates good communication skills and empathy. Timely recognizes time as a most valuable resource and responds promptly to patients and co-workers needs. Accurate works carefully and precisely with attention to detail. Coordinated organizes and delivers service in the proper order. Displays good organization skills and utilizes resources wisely. Thorough meets all the requirements of his/her position. Is able to evaluate and follow-up on his/her services. Follows dress code policy. Maintains confidentiality regarding patients and fellow employees. ORGANIZATIONAL TEAMWORK COMPETENCIES : Displays and encourages sensitivity to the needs of patients visitors and co-workers. Treats others with consideration courtesy and respect. Performs duties willingly and with initiative. Shares necessary information with co-workers in order that they may do the same. Remains composed and takes actions to restore calm in stressful situations. Demonstrates judgment and tact when dealing with others. Cooperates with other departments/offices and work groups. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers (patients co-workers physicians et cetera). Meets requirements for mandatory in-services and continuing education. ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES : Attendance maintains good attendance in coordination with UP&S policy. Punctuality reports to work on time and is ready for duty. Uses time sheet to record time correctly for each pay period. WORK ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES : Provides evaluation screening and placement for jobseekers Maintains records on jobseekers to include but not limited to assessment skill trainings and certifications Works with community business partners to develop and enhance job placement opportunities. Works with community partners to build relationships for skills trainings. Meets with employers to discuss concerns or questions then relay those issues to the program director or designee. Helps clients fill out paperwork and attend to correspondence. Maintains current information on available community resources for jobseekers to access. Organizes and participates in delegate inter-agency meetings. Attends all center staff meetings. Assists the development and update of the Community Resources Directory. Submits accurate prompt reports as requested by center director or grantee staff. Ensures absolute confidentiality with respect to information records concerning Job seekers. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. OTHER REQUIRED COURSE / TRAINING IN: Must be proficient in Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Visio and Outlook. Must be skilled at developing rapport with other organizations and maintaining working relationships that support the implementation of services. Must have good verbal and written communication skills as well as demonstrated skills in public speaking leadership and group facilitation Must demonstrate a clear understanding of professional boundaries and confidentiality when working with individuals and the professional staff in partner agencies. Must have a valid drivers license
