About the RoleThe Full Discretion team is currently accepting applications for an Investment Associate position. This person will play an important role in providing data and investment analysis support for existing Investment Analysts Strategists Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts on the Full Discretion team. Support would reach across multiple sectors of the Full Discretion investing universe including credit interest rates mortgage and structured finance equity and derivatives. This is an exciting hands-on opportunity to join and learn from a growing product team. This position will have room for growth within the team over time as it offers deep involvement in portfolio construction cross-asset research and investment decision support. This position reports directly to the Portfolio Manager. The Investment Associate will also take direction from current Investment Analysts and other members of the Full Discretion team. Collaboration would also include monitoring of risk dispersion and attribution as well as rebalancing existing positions at both the portfolio and product level. Increase team process efficiencies through automation of existing tasksAd Hoc requests from various Full Discretion team members. Qualifications & Education RequirementsStrong coding skills (Python VBA)Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge with particular focus on Excel and should possess excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of fixed income market fundamentals. 1-2 years of experience in a fixed income investment environment is preferred. Strong academic credentials including an undergraduate degree is required. A concentration in business finance or economics is credentials or progress towards either designation are also desired but not required. Additional RequirementsThe position follows a hybrid schedule with two days work from home and three days work from Sayles is committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation.
