Job Summary:
Production Lead supports daily shop floor operations by coordinating technician activities maintaining production workflow and ensuring compliance with safety quality and procedural standards during turbine module assembly. This role works closely with Operations to execute production priorities address issues and ensure technicians have the tools materials and documentation needed to complete work safely and on schedule.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work as part of team to accomplish delivery goal for Engines and Modules
Will be assigned specific EMUs to lead based on skills and qualifications
Perform turbine technician job duties as required to keep up with production priorities
Ensure all employees are at their assigned workstation
Meet daily with Operations Leader to plan for the next day and set team priorities.
Report shortage and incomplete tasks for communicating to oncoming shift
Facilitate training of Turbine Techs as needed
Communicate other leads concerning all internal parts moved
Work with team to improve productivity in area to include task vouchering tools and drawings.
Assist in identifying P & E needs for the shop.
Work with team to achieve business goals for DAFW and I & I metrics.
Work with team for compliance with safety requirement and supporting EHS training metrics.
Provide feedback to broader teams gates on issues and support of action plans to make improvements.
Strong focus for process improvement and change management.
Capability to actively work onmultiple tasks at the same time.
Ability to multitask and effectively communicate across cross functional departments suppliers and customers
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years of gas turbine aerospace or related precision mechanical assembly experience
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings assembly procedures and work instructions
Ability to be able to lift push and pull up to40 pounds
Ability to safely lift push or pull up to 40 pounds
Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts over 15000 pounds
Need to have worked and good knowledge of systems (ARMS and SMART SHOP)
Desired Characteristics:
Prior experience coordinating work in a production or assembly environment
Familiarity with gas turbine or aeroderivative engine assembly operations
Experience supporting Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
Strong communication organizational and problem-solving skills
