We are seeking an experienced DB2 Linux Administrator to manage optimize and support IBM DB2 database environments running on Linux platforms. This fully remote role requires a highly skilled professional capable of ensuring database performance security availability and scalability in a production environment.
Candidates must currently reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
Install configure and maintain IBM DB2 databases on Linux servers
Monitor database performance identify bottlenecks and implement tuning strategies
Perform database backup recovery and disaster recovery planning
Implement high availability (HA) and replication solutions
Manage database security access controls and compliance standards
Support patching upgrades and migration initiatives
Troubleshoot production issues and provide root cause analysis
Collaborate with application developers and infrastructure teams
Document database configurations procedures and best practices
Ensure uptime reliability and operational stability across environments
Required Qualifications
5 years of experience administering IBM DB2 in Linux environments
Strong experience with DB2 LUW (Linux UNIX Windows)
Proficiency in Linux system administration (RHEL CentOS Ubuntu or similar)
Experience with performance tuning query optimization and indexing strategies
Knowledge of backup/recovery utilities and disaster recovery planning
Familiarity with shell scripting and automation
Experience with high-availability configurations (HADR preferred)
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in regulated environments (finance healthcare government)
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP)
Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD integration
IBM DB2 certifications
