About the Opportunity
A respected community-based healthcare organization in northeastern Nevada is seeking a People Services Director. This senior leadership role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serves as a strategic advisor to the executive team.
This is an opportunity to lead the Human Resources function for a well-established acute care hospital guiding workforce strategy employee engagement labor relations and organizational development initiatives. The Director will oversee one HR team member and support a workforce of over 200 employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all HR operations including employee relations workforce planning recruitment retention performance management and compliance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on workforce strategy and organizational effectiveness.
- Develop and execute retention initiatives to improve engagement and reduce turnover.
- Oversee union relationships and lead labor negotiations while fostering collaborative partnerships.
- Monitor and analyze workforce metrics to identify trends and implement proactive solutions.
- Manage HR departmental budgeting and ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Coordinate internal and external HR audits.
- Promote a culture of professional development accountability and employee well-being.
- Travel up to 20% as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum 7 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience
- Strong employee relations experience
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification (PHR SPHR SHRM-CP SHRM-SCP etc.)
- Prior healthcare industry experience
- Union/labor relations experience
