Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

The position of Deputy Director Legal is responsible for supporting the Director Legal in managing companys legal affairs including drafting legal research litigation preparation regulatory coordination and document vetting. The role provides essential support in ensuring compliance with laws and regulations assisting in contract administration and maintaining legal uniformity across departments.

The incumbent functions as a mid-level legal professional within the Legal Department and facilitates smooth coordination between internal stakeholders and external counsel contributing to companys overall legal governance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Advisory & Documentation

  • Assist in drafting legal opinions letters notices and internal advisory documents.
  • Perform legal vetting of documents and highlight areas requiring clarification or revision.
  • Conduct legal research to support Director Legal in decision-making.

Litigation Support

  • Prepare case files briefs and documentation required for litigation and arbitration cases.
  • Coordinate with external counsel for hearing schedules submissions and court updates.
  • Track court proceedings and maintain updated litigation reports.

Agreement Review & Drafting

  • Assist in drafting reviewing and negotiating agreements under the direction of Director Legal.
  • Ensure incorporation of legal requirements and organizational interests in draft documents.

Coordination with External Counsel

  • Maintain communication with external law firms facilitate exchange of documents and ensure timely responses.
  • Prepare drafts of submissions or comments for review by Director Legal.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Support Director Legal in interactions with NEPRA Government entities and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in reviewing agenda items legal summaries and working papers submitted by departments.

Dispute Resolution Support

  • Help prepare documentation and correspondence required for dispute resolution processes.
  • Liaise with technical units for information required for legal assessments.

Reporting & Record Management

  • Prepare legal summaries case trackers and periodic legal reports for the Director Legal.
  • Maintain proper filing archiving and record-keeping of legal documents.

Knowledge Support

  • Participate in departmental learning initiatives and contribute to legal research assignments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Legal Department.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized legal logs contract repositories and documentation required for compliance.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by Director Legal or ED Legal.

Requirements:

Qualification:

Four (04) Years Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Law

Experience:

Minimum 6 years of relevant Post Qualification experience

Age

Maximum 40 Years as on the last date of submission of application
