Position Summary

TheProduction Managerisresponsible fortheday-to-day management of the Production positionworks closely with the Operations Manager and regularly collaborates with other key stakeholders to coordinate the facilitys production operations.

Essential Responsibilities

Operations

  • Responsible for management of the production scheduleincluding daily production planning withtheproduction staff;monitoring and updatingthe productionschedule;ensuring completion oftheproduction cycle and on-time delivery; andparticipatingin daily production capacity meetings.
  • Recognizingbottlenecks in the production processand problem solving.
  • Load level production staff when necessary to meet job deadlines.
  • Makeappropriate workflowadjustmentsin order tocomplete the daily production schedule.
  • Ensure regular workflow and quality audits are performed to ensure internal and external customer requirements arebeing met.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by leading and supporting innovation and continuously analyzing production workflows with a focus on maximizing productivityefficiencyquality and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure complianceandcapturebusiness metrics byutilizingthe order entry system.
  • AssisttheOperations Manager with the facilitys budgetmaintainacapital asset listand prepare capital project paperwork.
  • Prepare monthly inventory reports and monthly/quarterly WIP reports.
  • Perform job costing research and corrections concerning billing of all production departments.
  • Ensure overall compliance withequipment department and plant standard operating procedures.
  • Manage vendor relations for production areas.
  • Administer and update contracts for various vendors.

  • Collaborate withSalesteamtoassistwith client management.
  • Serve aspointof contact for customer issues and provide technicalexpertise.
  • Communicatecustomer issues and devise ways of improvingthe customerexperience including resolving problems and complaints.
  • Work with all cross functional teams to enhancethequality of service tocustomers with specialattention toon-time delivery and product quality.

Workforce Management

  • Provide general communication to plant personnel.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports and conduct regular performance development meetings to help foster a high performing team.
  • Foster a culture of trust and alignmentusingthe organizationscore values.
  • Promote a culture that encourages continuous improvement top performance and high morale.
  • Act as a change agent for all local and corporate initiatives.
  • Champion for andparticipatein process improvements and changes in staffing technology workflowsand procedures.
  • Manage a large group of people working varied shifts across multiple departments.

Miscellaneous

  • Maintainasafe and healthy work environment byestablishing following and enforcing standards and proceduresandcomplyingwithlegal regulations.
  • Lead and/or collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders on the development and execution of special projects and corporate initiatives as needed.
  • Ensures thatthe organizationssafety policies and practices arefollowedand that department work areas meet all safety standards and policies.
  • Support the siteinproviding and monitoring policies training and resources to create a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assistwithadditionalresponsibilities as directed by management.

Education Experience&Certification

  • Associatesdegreepreferred
  • 10 years of experience inthepackaging prepressand/orgraphic arts industry in a production environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite ( Outlook Excel etc.). and good working knowledge of either PC or Mac IOS

    The Ontario pay range for this position is $74693 CAD to $93366.5 CAD annually. Ultimately in determining pay we will consider the successful candidates experience skills knowledge and other job-related factors.
