About the Role
Were seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance repair and upkeep of our communitys interior and this role youll handle preventative maintenance respond to resident maintenance requests and ensure the community is safe functional and welcoming.
What Youll Do
- Maintain and repair community systems including HVAC elevator fire and sprinkler equipment generators kitchen equipment and emergency pull cord systems
- Perform general maintenance projects including plumbing electrical carpentry painting and equipment repair
- Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly and efficiently
- Maintain vacated rooms including painting cleaning and minor repairs
- Ensure common areas are properly maintained including walls flooring doors and woodwork
- Maintain positive communication with local fire marshals building inspectors and other regulatory agencies
- Assess plumbing and electrical problems and determine the best course of action
- Document safety issues and physical deficiencies according to local state and federal guidelines
- Respond appropriately to emergencies assisting management as needed
- Foster teamwork and maintain a positive impact on residents visitors and coworkers
- Report any suspected elder maltreatment or abuse to the Director of Health and Wellness Executive Director and/or State
- Perform other duties as assigned
What Were Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 13 years of related experience in building maintenance or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of building systems and codes including HVAC plumbing and electrical
- Valid state drivers license required for vehicle travel
- Must meet all health requirements including TB clearance
- First Aid certification required
- Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
- Strong communication skills with residents families and team members
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules operating instructions and procedure manuals
- Applies common sense to carry out written oral or diagrammed instructions
- Pleasant professional and personable demeanor
