The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking to hire an Assistant Controller to join the Arizona Correction Industries (ACI) team. This position is responsible for the majority of ACIs day-to-day accounting management and will act as the Chief Financial Officer when appropriate.

- Prepares monthly and annual General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) financial statements including preparation of data for the external auditors regarding their certified audit of the ACI financial statements
- Prepares financial statements for the ACI Annual Report and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) preparations
- Accumulates reviews and adjusts all incoming data from areas of accounts receivable accounts payable inventory cost accounting fixed assets and payroll (staff and inmates) which includes month-end accruals as well as a sophisticated analysis of accounting data and results
- Acts as signature authority over claims packets warrants and purchase orders up to $5000
- Supervises motivates guides directs responds to and trains members of the accounting staff and inmates
- Trains other departments with respect to implementing and maintaining appropriate financial controls
- Reviews and edits month-end accruals Requests for Cost of Materials (RCOM) and general journals
- Reviews troubleshoots and improves the accounting systems procedures controls and reporting
- Investigates responds and reports to queries from executive/senior management and operations as required
- Visits work sites attends training seminars meetings and prepares employee evaluations
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

- Generally accepted accounting principles and how they apply to the correctional industry environment
- Procurement and how it is utilized within the State environment and its mission regarding effective manufacturing processes

Ability to:
- Work well with management and subordinates at the lowest level to cohesively organize and develop accurate financial data

The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended.
