We need a phone person with computer skills. Since phones is a sticking point and many people think they are just going to do data entry we want it make it clear up front that this person will be responding to phone lines and looking up the status of applications in the system and making notes in the system. They will also be doing some data entry printing out email applications and scanning them into the system. But phone duties will be at least 50% of their time. We have individuals that call in and leave a message. They want an application sent to them or they want to know the status of their application or they want to know if their application has been received or they want to let us know that they have received a disconnect notice or they want to let us know that they have been disconnected or they want to let us know that they sent in additional information etc. The person working phones will listen to the message look up their account in DocuWare find out the status and call the customer back and respond to them with the information. They may need to pass on information to another staff person through email. They also print out applications received electronically or additional information received and scan it into the proper file. They may help Patti open the mail when we get a large batch of mail. They may be asked to make copies of applications. They may be asked to file. They may be asked to help with mailing out letters to customers. Depending on their computer skills they may be asked to help register applications as they come in. But it is not a straight data processing job like the others. Everyday will involve phone work through out the day but it also involves looking up every call on the computer maybe entering notes and the other duties as described but not straight phone work like a receptionist. This position works in a team-based high-production environment and maintains excellent standards for accurate data entry in order to expedite the application process for the delivery of LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures that all data is entered accurately. Performs detailed screening of applicants to determine eligibility for the program and whether appropriate documentation was presented. Calculates income eligibility from monthly pay stubs and other documents. Maintains high productivity standards. Maintains accurate and complete files for every customer. Communicates orally and in writing with customers coworkers and management. Maintains sensitive information with integrity. Other duties as assigned Dress Code
