Job Description

The Education and Student Affairs (ESA) is the central service point for teachers and (prospective) students at Eindhoven University of Technology and provides services in the field of educational support educational logistics study skills career guidance use of ICT resources in education professional skills and language addition ESA supports the Executive Board the Dean of Education as well as the faculties in the fields of education policy legislation and regulations quality assurance training and institutional accreditation educational innovation and internationalization. ESA has divided this support into four departments namely the Central Student Administration (CSA) Teacher Support and Quality Assurance (TS&QA) Policy Advice and Projects (PA&P) and Student Facilities (SF).

Policy Advice and Projects

You will work within the Policy Advice & Projects (PA&P) team. This team is primarily responsible for drawing up tactical and operational education policy and regulations internationalization policy and the generation and interpretation of administrative information within the education domain. Experience and knowledge will be exchanged and collaborated within the policy chain that TU/e has set up in a broad addition the department manages projects related to or resulting from education policy and its implementation and evaluation.

Function description

As (jr.) on wellbeing and education you will work within the Policy Advice & Projects (PA&P) team in close collaboration with colleagues and students throughout the this role you will contribute to the ambition of the Beethoven program to educate top talent and strengthen research across the fields of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

You will be deployed on university-wide projects and activities with an implementation character.

The main topic you will work on is the further development of the overall wellbeing and onboarding of our students including building a strong sustainable student community. One of your tasks will be participating in a project that is focusing on policy development for educational community building. Moreover you will work on implementing TU/es student wellbeing policy via a large number of close relationship to the wellbeing policy officer and the ESA -PA&P Wellbeing team we expect you to:

  • Participate in policy preparation and implementation on community development
  • Organize coordinate and evaluate activities on community and student wellbeing.
  • Take part in the organization of the yearly TU/e wellbeing week together with the Student sport center and HR.
  • Bring our bottom-up initiatives programto a next level by engaging students and student associations to participate.
  • be part of the Wellbeing team for students (of ESA-PA&P) to ensure that activities around wellbeing and related topics (e.g. social safety) are aligned;
  • evaluate and improve the information provision to students (and staff) and work on awareness and communication campaigns on wellbeing together with the wellbeing & social safety student assistants and our communication advisor.
  • improve the connections and contacts with various staff and student groups concerned with student wellbeing and social safety;
  • Have the ability and interest to also work on more general education related policy and projects

Job Requirements

We are looking for a colleague who

  • has an academic work and thinking level with a hands-on mentality and affinity for the topic of wellbeing and social safety;
  • has preferably experience in higher education and knowledgeable in student wellbeing topics;
  • can relate to the target group: an inclusive/diverse and international population of students;
  • is a strong communicator and a real team player;
  • has a result oriented mentality (can-do!) open flexible service oriented;
  • is strong in planning and organizing;
  • has both Dutch and English language proficient (at least C1).

Conditions of Employment

  • A one year contract within the prospect of an extension to a total up to 48 months co-financed within the Beethoven project.
  • A monthly salary of minimum 3708 to maximum 5538 for full-time employment depending on your knowledge and experience (scale 9/10 collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities).
