RATE OF PAY: $18.10 per hour

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Governance and Policy Assistant provides administrative and analytical support to ONTCs corporate governance and policy functions. This position supports the review organization maintenance and continuous improvement of ONTCs policy framework and governance records including policy lifecycle management document control and records organization. This role offers handson experience in publicsector governance and policy management within a Crown agency environment.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with the review organization and cleanup of corporate policies procedures and supporting documentation
  • Support policy lifecycle management activities including version control tracking and status verification
  • Review online policies within the policy management system (MyPolicies) and compare them against approved paperbased or source documents to identify gaps inconsistencies or outdated materials
  • Assist with improving the organization structure and usability of the policy management program
  • Prepare edit format and organize documents using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Organize validate catalogue and maintain electronic and paperbased files in accordance with records management best practices
  • Scan and prepare documents for digital record-keeping and retention
  • Assist with corporate governance tasks including organizing governance records and supporting documentation
  • Review documents and compile relevant information summaries or listings as required
  • Assist with data gathering tracking and basic analysis related to governance and policy initiatives
  • Provide general administrative support to the Legal and Professional Services team
  • Participate in meetings and team discussions as appropriate
  • Carry out other duties related to governance policy and administrative support as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Preference given to students enrolled in a full-time post-secondary studies in September 2026a program related to public administration policy governance business administration or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and organize large volumes of documents and information
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic; energetic reliable and eager to learn
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Advanced computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with document management systems or databases is considered an asset
  • Must be committed to Company Health and Safety policies and practices
