Patient Access Representative
Location: Houston TX
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: MondayFriday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Position Overview
A healthcare organization in Houston Texas is seeking a Patient Access Representative to support front office and call center operations. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in registration scheduling referrals and insurance verification.
The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills call center experience and a solid understanding of healthcare front office workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist patients visitors and guests in a professional and courteous manner
Perform accurate patient registration check-in and check-out processes
Verify insurance coverage and benefits; obtain referrals and pre-authorizations as needed
Collect co-pays deductibles and outstanding balances; process cash and credit card payments
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the system
Provide front office and call center support including answering phones and scheduling appointments
Manage patient flow and respond to patient inquiries or concerns
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
Maintain a clean organized and welcoming front office environment
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical front office or patient access role
Call center and appointment scheduling experience required
Referral processing experience required
Strong customer service and cashier experience
Health insurance verification experience
Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills
Ability to use a 10-key keypad by touch
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Education
