Position Summary:
Prescott Newspapers Inc. is a trusted community newspaper serving Prescott Valley and the surrounding areas. We are currently seeking an experienced Didde Press Operator to join our Prescott Valley Print Facility team.
This is a full-time day or night shift position and plays a critical role in pressroom production.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform make-ready and operate the Didde press to print inserts periodical covers and specialty print jobs according to written specifications
- Monitor press operation and maintain consistent print quality; determine acceptable vs. unacceptable output while the press is running
- Perform all operational duties necessary to achieve desired production results
- Assist pressroom personnel in all phases of daily production
- Maintain press and related equipment through preventative maintenance practices
- Works toward newsprint and high gloss waste standards and waste reduction programs
- Assist in other press and production areas as needed
- Operate forklift clamp truck and pallet jack (must be certifiable)
- Experience with Goss Community Press equipment is a plus.
- Participates in company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work night shift
