Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer to design build and operate automation solutions using AMELIA and modern scripting tools. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Python PowerShell JavaScript and Linux/Windows with a logical problem-solving mindset. You will collaborate with OPNS application owners and service teams to deliver efficiency resilience and cost savings through automation. Experience in Agile delivery and structured cadences is essential.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement automation using AMELIA and custom scripts (Python PowerShell Bash JavaScript) for service restarts health checks and operational runbooks.
- Build reusable automation modules with robust logging error handling monitoring and configuration management.
- Integrate with enterprise systems (APIs schedulers alerting ticketing CMDB) for end-to-end workflows.
- Monitor and optimize automations: track execution success rates and impact metrics (MTTR cost savings).
- Automate incident remediation playbooks for L1/L2 operations (service start/stop cache clear config verification).
- Collaborate with teams to identify automation opportunities and drive delivery through structured cadences.
- Manage stakeholders: backlog grooming demos risk communication and priority alignment.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies: sprint planning estimation stand-ups reviews and retrospectives.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering and automation.
- Scripting & Coding:
- Python (automation frameworks API calls multiprocessing)
- PowerShell (Windows services registry WMI)
- JavaScript ( REST integrations)
- Bash (Linux service management cron log analysis)
- OS Expertise: Windows Server/Client and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) administration.
- Automation Platforms: Experience with AMELIA or similar IT operations platforms.
- Dev Practices: Git code reviews modular design unit testing secure coding.
- Agile & Collaboration: Scrum/Kanban experience; stakeholder engagement.
- Communication: Ability to translate technical solutions into business outcomes.
WE VALUE
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience in DevOps practices and methodologies.
- Integration with monitoring/alerting (Splunk Elastic) ticketing (ServiceNow/Jira) CMDB.
- Knowledge of REST/GraphQL APIs JSON/YAML webhooks.
- Exposure to CI/CD containerization (Docker).
- ITIL Foundations or similar certification.
- Demonstrated success in driving digital transformation initiatives.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
