The Construction Administrator plays a key supporting role within the residential construction operations team assisting in the delivery of house and land projects by managing project workflows documentation and permits from pre-site through to handover. The role also focuses on building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth efficient and high-quality construction outcomes.
Key areas of responsibility
- Maintain construction registers manage electronic and printed site files site management plans and keep task management programs current;
- Handle all Council and Authority applications DLAP and Pre-Site inspections utility connections/disconnections and submission of occupancy permits and builder declarations;
- Track weekly progress claims with the construction team and issue progress claim requests to the accounts team;
- File handover documents and photos prepare weekly meeting minutes and ensure all reports are generated and issued within specified timeframes;
- Act as the key point of contact for site supervisors and construction managers supporting smooth onsite workflow across all internal teams.
Minimum requirements
- Tertiary qualification in construction management building or a related discipline (preferred); equivalent experience will be considered;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a construction building or project administration role;
- Strong organisational and time management skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients and staff;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel Word Outlook) BuildPass and ;
- Familiarity with residential construction processes council permit applications and OH&S documentation is advantageous;
- A demonstrated ability to work autonomously show initiative and self-motivate with minimal supervision.
