The new team willcreate andmaintainsoftware documentationuser trainingmaterialsandrelease collateralforbothproducts.Liaisingwith thesoftwaredevelopment teams in the UK and USthrough the Agile SDLCthe successful candidate will managea writing group responsiblecreatingor updating existing user guides formodelling and simulationapplications and their evolvingfunctionalityandconverttechnical information from developers and engineers intoeasily digestiblecontent.
JobResponsibilities:
Hiretrainand motivate a new team based in Noida to replace the current writing team in the UK. The new team must be operational by end of Q1 2026.
Cooperatewithdevelopment and applicationengineering teams and undertake your own research to understandhow to use the software and its features.
The documentation teamwill be part of the development sprintworkflow and as such be available for sprint meetings deliver feedback on issuesbeing worked on and deliver documentation on time to close off each sprint.
Asthe manager for the group this role will be part of the software rollout and signoff processfor each major and minorreleases andbe responsible fordocumentation quality andagreeing when the software is ready to release.
The new team must createandmaintainthe documentation profile of the software by converting technical information intoclear content including:
Software documentation theF1 Help which explains every aspect ofthesoftware. This should helpnew usersto confidently use thesoftware andalso provide advanced users with the detailed information they need.
Training materials tutorials and other materials to introducenew usersto the software and to teach existing users about newly-added functionality.
Release collateraltechnicaldocuments published when a new software version is released such asinstallation guides technical specificationrequirementsandrelease notes.
Work with the Product Engineering Group Directortoimplement internalprocessesforincreasing efficiencyand consistency within the documentation team.
JobQualifications:
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and able to take complicated technical subjects and explain themsimply and clearly.
Excellent management skills to build train motivate andretaina new team
Experience of transitioning/off-shoringteams to India
Observant inidentifyingareas of improvementfor a documentation profile both in content and structure.
Experience working onCAD orphysics-based engineering software.
Self-motivated and can work unsupervised and deliver to a deadline.
Working knowledge of XML HTML and CSS.
Working knowledgeof document design and layout for print and digitalmedia
Experience with Git orsimilarsourcecontrol system.
A degree in Engineering Physics MathematicsEnglishor otherrelevantdiscipline.
8yearsrelevant experience in a technical communications role with working.knowledge ofMadCapFlare or another single-sourcing content management tool.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Previousexperience documenting complex software or hardware for diverse audiences.
Previousexperience of JIRA
Knowledge oftheAgile software developmentlife cycle.
Expertisein documentation automation.
Knowledge of data centre/electronics systems.
