Job Summary
Mental Health Technician (MHT)
Location: New York NY 10016
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Options: Morning Evening or Night (Candidate may choose one shift)
Schedule Options (Choose One)
Morning Shift: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
Evening Shift: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
Night Shift: 11:00 PM 7:30 AM
Compensation
Up to$1300 gross weekly (Local Candidates)
Up to$1600 gross weekly (Travelers)
About the Facility
A well-established healthcare facility in New York City is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join their behavioral health team on a 13-week contract. The facility provides comprehensive mental health services in a structured clinical setting focused on patient safety and therapeutic care.
Position Summary
The Mental Health Technician will support patients with behavioral and mental health conditions by assisting with daily activities monitoring patient safety and working closely with nurses and clinical staff to ensure quality patient care.
Responsibilities
Monitor and document patient behavior and activities
Assist patients with daily living activities as needed
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
Support de-escalation and crisis intervention when required
Communicate effectively with nursing and multidisciplinary teams
Follow facility policies safety guidelines and infection control procedures
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of behavioral health experience
Mental Health Technician (MHT) Certification
High School Diploma or equivalent
Current BLS Certification (AHA required)
