Job Description Summary
The Access to Achievement Support Specialist provides administrative and student support for A-B Techs inclusive postsecondary education initiative Access to Achievement (A2A). This position assists with tracking and maintaining student information coordinating communications and providing general organizational and logistical support for the program. The Specialist supports the success of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) by maintaining accurate documentation assisting with student check-ins and helping ensure effective collaboration among students faculty staff and external partners. The role combines administrative precision with a student-centered focus to help create an inclusive and supportive campus environment.
Duties
1. Maintains and updates student records databases and confidential documentation using Colleague and other electronic systems. 2. Assists with communication between students faculty and staff regarding schedules progress and accommodations related to Access to Achievement. 3. Supports student engagement by conducting check-ins monitoring attendance and providing encouragement and guidance on time management and organization. 4. Tracks student goals and progress in coordination with the Director of Support Services and program staff. 5. Assists with preparation of reports correspondence and forms related to program activities and documentation. 6. Serves as a point of contact for inquiries about Access to Achievement providing courteous and accurate information. 7. Coordinates logistics for occasional meetings peer mentorship student internships trainings and on-campus events related to the program. 8. Contributes to the College Vision Mission Values and RISE statement. 9. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects. 10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelors degree in Education Human Services Psychology or related discipline. 2. Work experience with Ellucian Colleague or other electronic student information systems. 3. Work experience in a college or post-secondary education environment. 4. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish an East Slavic language and/or American Sign Language.
