Job Summary

Position Summary
The Round Lake Area Park District is seeking an enthusiastic and inclusive group fitness instructor to lead Zumba Gold or similar low-impact high-energy music driven choreographed fitness classes designed for active older adults and beginners. This role focuses on creating a welcoming supportive environment that promotes movement entertainment and social connection through rhythm.

We are looking for a commitment of one weekday morning. Additional classes could be added in the future.

Responsibilities

Lead safe engaging low-impact group fitness classes (e.g. Zumba Gold low-impact dance fitness chair-assisted fitness or similar)
Provide movement options and modifications to meet varied ability levels
Create a positive inclusive class atmosphere for participants of all fitness backgrounds
Monitor participant safety and respond appropriately to individual needs
Communicate with recreation staff regarding attendance equipment and program needs

Qualifications

Current group fitness certification (Zumba Gold AFAA ACE SilverSneakers or similar) preferred
Experience teaching older adults beginners or special populations strongly preferred
Knowledge of low-impact movement and exercise modifications
CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)
Friendly encouraging teaching style with strong interpersonal skills
