Job Summary

Senior Accountant Private Home Care Business

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team for a growing private home care organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills a solid understanding of the accounting close process and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Manage general ledger and month-end close process including accruals reconciliations and journal entries.
Analyze variances and trends in revenue expenses and profitability across service lines and locations.
Assist with accounts payable accounts receivable and payroll accounting functions.
Support external audits and coordinate with auditors to provide requested documentation.
Ensure proper accounting for collections and revenue recognition.
Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency accuracy and internal controls.
Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and assist management with decision support analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
5 years of accounting experience ideally in home care or related service industry.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel (pivot tables lookups etc.).
Experience with iSolve payroll systems and homecare billing preferred.
Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
High attention to detail and integrity handling confidential financial information.
