The Building and Grounds Specialist performs advanced irrigation and water management duties while supporting the maintenance repair and overall operation of state facilities and grounds. This position plays a vital role in ensuring efficient water usage maintaining safe and functional building systems and preserving the appearance safety and integrity of public properties throughout the year. Responsibilities require technical expertise independent judgment and a strong commitment to preventative maintenance and operational excellence in both indoor and outdoor environments.
This position is located in Cheyenne a steadily growing community along the Front Range that remains true to its Old West heritage. Residents enjoy convenient access to mountain biking skiing hiking fishing hunting and a variety of other outdoor recreation opportunities. Cheyenne is also home to Cheyenne Frontier Days the Daddy of em All held annually during the last week of July. Qualifying eligibility and criteria for the hiring bonus
Temporary employees accepting a full-time position.
Current employees are accepting a promotional opportunity so recruitment must be opened to the public.
One year of service to WYDOT must be completed; failure to complete this requirement will forfeit the hiring incentive and funds will be recouped from final pay.
Internal candidates would be required to remain in the position for a minimum of one (1) year from their promotion date.
Employees would only be eligible for one (1) hiring bonus in a 12-month period.
If the employee elects to downgrade through an active recruitment and/or appointment during the twelve (12) month period they would be required to pay the bonus back.
