The position begins on August 16 2026 and ends one year from date of hire.
We seek candidates with a strong research and teaching profile in Native American and Indigenous Studies. As a multidisciplinary program we welcome candidates from all Liberal Arts fields. Candidates will be reviewed by the relevant academic department as well as by NAIS.
The Program in Native American and Indigenous Studies (NAIS) at The University of Texas at Austin has a global comparative focus with a particular strength in the Americas. Our undergraduate certificate and graduate portfolio allow students to develop a comprehensive understanding of Indigenous thought history and also provide a community for NAIS students and faculty affiliates through seminars workshops social events and support for student organizations.
