Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Offshore Galleyhand to support daily food service operations aboard offshore facilities. The Galleyhand assists the Cook in meal preparation maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards and helps ensure a safe and organized galley environment for crew members.
This position requires the ability to work long hours in a fast-paced offshore setting while maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Cook with food preparation and meal service
Wash dishes utensils and kitchen equipment
Clean and sanitize galley pantry dining areas and food storage spaces
Receive and properly store food and supply deliveries
Maintain proper food handling and safety standards
Dispose of trash and maintain waste management procedures
Support inventory control and stock rotation (FIFO)
Follow all company safety policies and offshore regulations
Assist with other duties as assigned by the Steward or Captain
Qualifications
Previous kitchen restaurant or offshore galley experience preferred
Ability to work offshore rotational schedules
Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset
Ability to lift 4050 lbs regularly
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and physical
TWIC card required
Valid U.S. Coast Guard Medical Certificate (if applicable) preferred
Food safety certification a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to bend lift climb stairs and work in confined spaces
Comfortable working offshore in marine environments
