Ecolab is looking for a Capital Systems Analyst that will be responsible for supporting the management automation and continuous improvement of capital expenditure (Capex) processes and systems (primarily ETQ and Power BI) within the Central Engineering Department. This role partners closely with engineering finance and analytics teams to ensure accurate reporting compliance and process optimization across global operations.
Key Responsibilities
Capital Planning & Financial Analysis
- Lead and support annual capital planning and forecasting in collaboration with engineering and operating teams.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting on historical trends actual results and key financial KPIs to drive performance in capital execution.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly financial analysis to understand drivers of project and market performance.
- Investigate and communicate detailed drivers of operational performance and spending across GSC (Global Supply Chain).
Capex Systems Management & Process Improvement
- Serve as the primary owner for the capital project execution and auditing systems working with stakeholders to develop improvements and streamline workflows.
- Support the transition to semi-automatic ETQ uploads for monthly spend including data formatting validation and troubleshooting.
- Assist in the assessment of EBS locations versus manual ETQ uploads for actual monthly spend.
- Partner with analytics teams (e.g. Pune data analytics) for technical enhancements and reporting automation.
CAR (Capital Authorization Request) Processing & Governance
- Oversee CAR (Capital Authorization Request) processing in ETQ including reviewing plant/site approvals ensuring consistency across templates and troubleshooting issues.
- Act as a gatekeeper for CRB (Capital Review Board) phase ensuring all action items and documents are completed and uploaded.
- Provide coaching and support to new CAR ETQ users and project managers.
- Manage approval matrix changes and updates and support transition of meeting governance to regional engineering managers.
Reporting & Compliance
- Coordinate monthly cadence/portfolio calls and contingency reviews with market/regional leaders.
- Prepare and present quarterly compliance reviews including CIP aging data extraction and project status updates.
- Support year-end and quarter-end closing reports finance reconciliation and compliance documentation.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with SC (Supply Chain) Finance engineering leaders analytics teams and market/regional leaders to ensure alignment and effective execution of capital processes.
- Incorporate feedback from GSCLT (Global Supply Chain Leadership Team) and other stakeholders into monthly reporting and process improvements.
- Participate in training resource development and process roll-out for budgeted initiatives within the Technical Engineering COE (Center of Excellence) sub-function.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance Engineering Business or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in capital planning financial analysis and process improvement within a global organization.
- Proficiency with ETQ Power BI and Excel; experience with automated reporting and data validation.
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and geographies.
- Experience with CAR processing compliance reviews and governance frameworks is a plus.
