Overview
The Project Manager provides expertise in planning and managing new product development projects primarily focused on the project deliverables in the R&D function and cross-functional (Reg Clinical Manf.) interactions/dependancies. Projects support the Vascular division which may include products like; endovascular grafts introducer sheaths abcess drainage catheters procedural sets and pace maker lead extraction products. This role will not have direct HR employee responsibilities.
This role is a hybrid position. The general expectation for employees is to reside within two hours of the Cook Medical location and work onsite as needed per Manager expectations.
Responsibilities
Work with key stakeholders to define full project scope and lead the planning for assigned projects.
Establish meeting agendas facilitate team discussions and drive clear and timely team actions and decisions.
Pro-actively addresses barriers and risks to project progress keeping leadership informed of critical considerations and the implications of priority decisions.
Ensure that project deliverables are achieved on or ahead of schedule within budget and with quality that meets or exceeds business needs.
Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization.
Manages scheduled and ad-hoc project status reporting.
Manage project communication for all entity stakeholders including providing leadership updates.
Lead and facilitate conversations between functions when there is new information including scope changes risks and competing priorities.
Expert in listening and understanding what motivates team members and stakeholders to establish and maintain engagement and support.
Must maintain company quality and quantity standards.
Qualifications
B.S. Degree or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background (engineering/science education preferred)
A minimum of 3 years project management experience or leadership capacity handling multiple projects
Experience in medical device development strongly preferred
Experience with managing and directing project team members
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft suite of software tools
Proficiency in project managment tools (MS Project)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency MS Sharepoint preferred
Physical Requirements:
Works under general office environmental conditions
Requires close visual acuity when working with computers etc.
Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences
Domestic and global travel as required
The employee is occasionally required to stand for extended periods
The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop kneel or crouch
