JOB TITLE: Civic Facilities Technician DEPARTMENT: Civic Facilities DIVISION: Civic Arena SALARY: Negotiable CLOSING DATE: Until filled
Job Summary Performs a variety of tasks involving the set up and tear down of equipment and other resources supporting events and functions and upkeep of the building grounds and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Assists in set up before an event and clean-up after.
- Ensures cleanliness of facility to include all custodial responsibilities before during and after events and functions.
- Operates riding floor scrubber.
- Reports need for major building and equipment repair.
- Maintains storage areas in safe and orderly fashion.
- Removes snow and cleans walk areas.
Other Duties and Responsibilities Performs all other duties as assigned.
Employee Behavior and Conduct City employees shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and shall exhibit and extend such professional conduct appropriate for the circumstances to those with whom they come into contact both internally and externally during the performance of their duties. Examples of professional conduct include but are not limited to being communicative informative fair honest and respectful.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to learn routine tasks quickly.
- Ability to work flexible hours which will include evenings weekends and holidays.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
Material and Equipment Directly Used Uses a variety of equipment including minor computer skills scrubbers vacuum ladders and other equipment related to the maintenance of Civic Facilities. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Work is performed in an enclosed arena environment with a controlled temperature; variance may occasionally range from extreme heat to cold. Some outdoor exposure required. Physical activity includes prolonged standing bending stooping lifting walking and climbing. Exposure to environmental conditions such as dirt dust heat cold and loud noise. Must have the ability to routinely lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds occasionally lift objects weighing as much as 75 pounds or assist in lifting objects weighing in excess of 100 pounds.
Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred. All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment. Any job offer made by the City is contingent upon the applicant passing the drug screening and background check.
