The Department of Pathology is seeking a Clerk III to under general supervision provides clerical support related to the client relations services and billing functions of the University of Iowa Diagnostic Laboratories (UIDL). Performs a variety of tasks including but not limited to answering phone calls; responding to voicemail and emails; management of client/accessioning errors; coordinating receipt and delivering of cases; maintaining inventory; and report dissemination. All tasks involve numerous steps and techniques that require the use of judgment and problem-solving skills while working in a fluid team environment. This position is 100% time Monday Friday 0800-1700.
Duties to include:
Answer the telephone and respond to voicemail and email requests in a timely manner demonstrating effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
Support client relations by curating client/patient databases managing client and accessioning errors timely releasing result reports and creating client specific requisitions.
Review receive and deliver anatomic pathology cases.
Maintain laboratory supplies and fulfill collection kit requests in conjunction with UIDL technologists.
Demonstrate time management skills and adhere to UIHC policies and good work practices

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Any combination of related clerical office experience related undergraduate education and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to two years of full-time employment.
Desirable Qualifications:
One-two years experience related to customer service.
Any laboratory (research or clinical) or hospital experience related to patient testing and/or billing.
Experience or working knowledge with laboratory information systems EPIC specifically.
Experience with revenue cycle management software TELCOR specifically.
Experience with Excel spreadsheets.
Experience with Outlook and email management.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a team environment.
