POSITION OVERVIEW
The Full Stack Developer will support NATOs innovation-driven capability development within Allied Command Transformation (ACT) which has adopted Agile DevSecOps principles to deliver user-centric solutions at speed and scale. Embedded in cross-functional teams under the guidance of the Contracting Officers Technical Representative (COTR) the developer will build and maintain front-end and back-end components using modern continuous integration and delivery toolsets to ensure transparency traceability and responsiveness. The role involves delivering Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) through rapid iterative cycles while exploring emerging technologies that integrate hardware and software to meet immediate operational needs and strengthen long-term capabilities. Contractors may be required to travel up to 30 days per year within or outside NATO boundaries and while no security clearance is initially required for remote work the contracting authority reserves the right to request clearance during contract execution. This position is critical to sustaining NATOs ability to rapidly develop and field innovative digital solutions aligned with operational requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build containerized application tools following the 12-Factor App methodology Test Driven Development (TDD and Extreme Programming (XP).
- Develop products as part of a balanced agile team (Product Manager Product Owner UI/UX Designer and Data Scientists as applicable).
- Design and implement REST APls and microservices architecture.
- Develop full-stack solutions using modern JavaScript Python and/or Java frameworks.
- Perform front-end development (e.g. React Angular) and back-end development (e.g. Django/Flask SpringBoot).
- Conduct database design and programming (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL MongoDB
- Deploy containerized applications using Docker Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Work in a collaborative pair programming environment as needed.
- Rapidly learn and apply new programming languages frameworks and tools.
- Support the creation of sustainable DevSecOps pipelines and agile delivery practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in full-stack development using JavaScript Python or Java.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in front-end development (React Angular etc.) and/or back-end development ( Django/Flask SpringBoot etc.).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in database design/programming (MySQL PostgreSQL etc.).
- Experience in REST API design and development.
- Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
- Experience in Microservices Architecture.
- Experience deploying containerized applications with Docker Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Experience working in collaborative agile teams.
- Experience delivering iterative releases in an Agile/DevSecOps environment.
- Fluent in English (oral and written) at SLP 3333 or equivalent.
