The Opportunity

Our Minnetonka location is seeking a high caliber motivated self-driven engineering leader to join our operations team in Abbotts Electrophysiology business Abbotts Electrophysiology (EP) business were advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor leads a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Engineering Technicians supporting the production of Electrophysiology (EP) catheters in a regulated medical device environment. This role drives daily engineering support process stability troubleshooting and continuous improvement to ensure safe compliant and highquality products.

What Youll Work On

  • Lead coach and develop a team of engineers/technicians supporting EP catheter manufacturing.
  • Prioritize and assign engineering work to meet production quality and capacity goals.
  • Oversee process ownership documentation validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) and change control.
  • Provide hands-on support for line issues rootcause investigations and CAPA activities.
  • Analyze process data (yield scrap SPC CPK) to improve performance and reduce variation.
  • Drive continuous improvement automation tooling and process optimization projects.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with FDA QSR ISO 13485 and Abbott procedures.
  • Collaborate with Operations Quality R&D and Supply Chain to support product and business objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Biomedical Manufacturing Electrical Chemical or related field).
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within medical devices or a regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting complex assemblies or catheter-based device manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability (team lead project lead or formal supervisor).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EP catheters cardiovascular devices micro-assembly polymers bonding or braiding.
  • Strong background in validation documentation risk management and structured problem-solving (DMAIC 8D 6σ).
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment with strong ownership and communication skills.
