Job Title:Mobile HVAC Technician
Shift: 1st Shift MondayFriday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Compensation: $32$36 per hour
Location: Mobile Role (Company Van Provided) Based in Van Nuys CA 91405
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to support a portfolio of light commercial properties throughout the assigned territory. This is a mobile role with a company-provided van and tools offering the opportunity to work independently while delivering high-quality HVAC service and maintenance.
The ideal candidate is experienced in commercial HVAC systems confident in troubleshooting and repairs and capable of building strong working relationships with customers and team members. This position includes participation in an on-call rotation.
Key Responsibilities
HVAC Service & Maintenance
Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance on standard package and split HVAC systems common in light commercial environments including:
Inspection and replacement of belts and pulleys
Cleaning and clearing condensate drain lines
Testing compressors fan motors and blower motors
Inspecting burners heat exchangers and safety controls
Diagnose airflow and ducting issues and complete necessary repairs.
Perform general repairs on steam and hot water boiler systems.
Safely handle and utilize refrigerants in full compliance with EPA regulations.
Diagnose and repair mechanical electrical and system failures including:
Compressors and condensing units
Circuit boards and contactors
Refrigerant leaks
Brazing and repair of copper components
General Maintenance
Complete work orders in compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
Perform minor plumbing repairs such as unclogging drains repairing leaks and replacing fixtures.
Conduct minor electrical work within state law guidelines including fixture switch outlet bulb ballast and socket replacement.
Perform light carpentry drywall repair and painting to maintain professional facility appearance.
Conduct service and asset inspections as required.
Technology & Documentation
Customer Service & Professionalism
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent professional communication.
Provide estimates for larger repair or improvement projects.
Coordinate effectively with internal support teams and vendors.
Participate in required safety training and weekly safety meetings.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Certifications
Minimum 5 years of HVAC and general maintenance experience including electrical plumbing and carpentry.
Experience servicing industrial or commercial HVAC systems.
Two-year HVAC technical certification or state-approved HVAC license.
EPA Universal Refrigeration License (required).
Valid drivers license in good standing.
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.

Technical & Professional Skills
Strong understanding of commercial HVAC control systems and sequence of operations.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals safety policies and operating procedures.
Proficiency with mobile devices and work order management systems.
Strong communication skills with the ability to foster positive client and team relationships.
Commitment to OSHA standards and workplace safety compliance.
